Giants are football warriors, beat Bucs

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Michael Strahan - Giant and Road Warrior

Michael StrahanThis is why you, me, and all other football fans love football. It is a team like the Giants.

They are Warriors and this is the National Football League Playoffs!

They go on the road as road warriors. It makes our blood just begin to boil as they start marching out on the field onto the green turf.

The New York Giants defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24 - 14.

You can just put yourself in the place of the Giants. They aren’t a cute team or a pass happy team. The Giants are just tough enough, just tough enough, to band together on the road, me against the world and take on all comers.

The Giants moved to 8-1 away from home with a dominating 24-14 NFC-wild-card playoff victory over the Buccaneers on Sunday. New York has won every away game since falling in its season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, and it gets a chance to diminish that blemish in a much bigger matchup next Sunday, with the winner going to the conference title game.

“We love playing there, we love going down to Dallas,” Eli Manning said. “There are no secrets.

Did you hear that?

We love to play at Dallas?

Are they insane? Or are they a football team.

Mental toughness, emotional toughness, physical toughness, it is all about being a warrior. This is why everyone in my area was excited about the Giants game!

Heck, we are all Lions fans around here. The Lions lost to the Giants this year 10 - 16 in a bruising battle, the way football is supposed to be played.

Any Lions fan can watch a Giants game and have respect for what they do as a football team. They aren’t loaded with excess talent like the Patriots and Tom Brady and don’t have Big Brother Peyton like the Colts. They just play football.

Oh, sure, it was Tampa Bay and Jeff Garcia and not a whole lot else. How did they even make the playoffs? What do we even care? Goodbye Bucs!

Who are the Giants

The Giants play with Little Brother at QB and Eli does what he can. They have two running backs you don’t even know in Jacobs and Bradshaw. They employ two rangy receivers from MSU and UM that are tall, tough, with great hands in Plax and Toomer. These are the Giants.

And of course the incredible sack leader and defensive stalwart Michael Strahan. In fact, Strahan exemplifies what the Giants are all about. He does not fear the Cowboys, TO, and Romo. No, he just wants to crack their heads open!

NFL Football Michael Strahan factoid - On October 8, 2007, Strahan was a special guest during the opening segment of CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer and promoted his new book “Inside the Helmet: Life as a Sunday Afternoon Warrior”. source

Do the Giants measure up to the high powered Dallas Cowboys? No. Does that matter to them? No.

Next week, Giants. Road Warriors vs. Dallas. Don’t miss it!
