Nike has never been branded as patron saints, but they do come in with big bags of money.
Maybe because the Squibster recently switched to New Bals, the hierarchy at Nike is a little nervous about losing Vick.
How else can you explain the fact that they plan to keep the guy under contract.
Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said the company planned to honor its lucrative deal with Vick, who worked with the company to design a line of athletic shoes and has been used prominently in advertising campaigns. source
Geez, even the Humane Society is asking Nike to not be so humane and just get rid of the guy.
Vick even pulled out of his own football camp for kids. You think it might have been because the home towners were buying bushels of doggy treats to throw at him?
Earlier this month, Vick canceled his own youth football camp, which was to be held June 30 at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, where Vick grew up. He cited a scheduling conflict, although the announcement came soon after federal authorities executed a search warrant at a home Vick owns in nearby Surry County. The home has been at a center of a dogfighting investigation. source
Michael Vick has a lot of reputation restoring to do and had better do it fast!
Coach Petrino and Roger Goodell will most likely have the final word in this one.
