Eddie Royal catches the game winner for Denver from Jay Cutler

My good friend, uhh, let’s go by his fake name Ted, so we don’t reveal his real name Ted. Oops.
Anyway, Ted (the fake name) saw my problem with Steve Smith the Carolina receiver hurt and starting for my Fantasy Football Team the Spartans.
Take Eddie Royal, Ted said.
Huh? Eddie who?
Anyway, hurting for time and smarts, it was time to pick up Eddie Royal and let go of the injured Nate Burleson, who was on my bench. Then move Steve Smith to the bench and bring in Eddie what was his name? Oh, oh, Royal.
All Eddie Royal does is knock down 11 points and puts my team in the lead going into the Monday night game.
Thank You, Ted (fake name for Ted).
But more than that it was how he did it that shows the Denver Broncos are going for it this year.
Jay Cutler’s four-yard, fourth-down touchdown pass to rookie wideout Eddie Royal had just pulled the Broncos to within 38-37 of the San Diego Chargers with 24 seconds remaining in a wild battle for early season AFC West supremacy Sunday. Stokley, like virtually every one of the 75,915 fans at Invesco Field, expected Shanahan to do as all coaches do in that situation – kick the extra point and gear up for overtime.
Shanahan wasn’t listening to Stokley. He looked right through him, relaying the two-point conversion call to Cutler that would decide this game, then and there, on his terms. Adding to the boldness of it all, Shanahan sent in the exact same play that had just produced the touchdown. Only the formation (the receivers lined up on opposite ends, with Royal motioning into the left slot) was different; the result, despite tighter coverage, would be identical.
Mike Shanahan made gutsy call.
Jay Cutler made a great pass.
Eddie Royal made my day!

Your intrepid author is a huge NBA basketball fan and hailing from Michigan finds me rooting for the Detroit Pistons, win or lose.
This year was bittersweet as the Pistone-ians went down to the Cleveland LeBrons. This left the LeBrons to play San Antone with the Big Fundamental. You just knew the LeBrons would lose, because San Antone always wins. They always win.
During one of the games, the NBA Broadcasting team flashed a graphic showing Read more
