Sameer Mishra is no Numbnut – Spelling Bee

Sameer Mishra was the winner of the 2008 National Spelling Bee. However, his run to his championship wasn’t always a smooth one. Watch this video and see where Mishra mistakingly thinks he was called a numbnut. The crowd also gets in a good laugh at the ordeal.
Mishra, a 13-year-old from Lafayette, Indiana, won the National Spelling Bee by successfully spelling the world “guerdon”. If you haven’t had a chance to watch this year’s spelling bee yet, I’m sure ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN Classic will combine to replay it 234,654,913 times before the end of the month.
