Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain represent very different political brands and communicate very different brand messages. July 4th is a day to celebrate partriotism and democracy. With that in mind, who would you rather spend July 4th with?

Here’s an interesting way to look at branding. An Associated Press article released today lists each 2008 Presidential Election candidate as well as the first car that candidate ever owned and the car that candidate owns now. Let’s take a look at the list then we can talk about what these brand choices say about each candidate.
Hillary Clinton Embraces the Web

Hillary Clinton started out her presidential campaign by announcing her candidacy via on online video. She is continuing to embrace the internet as a portal for reaching a modern audience where they are likely to see and hear her message. It’s an interesting approach, and I admire her campaign team for that.
The most recent example is the online video that’s been circulating around the internet where Hillary asks viewers to visit her website to vote for her campaign song. Over 200,000 votes were cast and her website received over 500,000 visits on June 19th when the winning song was announced. …read more
