Shannon Brown Finds A Home In L.A.

After being traded to his fourth team in three years, Shannon Brown may have finally found a home. The Charlotte Bobcats traded him and Adam Morrison to the Los Angeles Lakers halfway through the 2009 season, but this time he may actually stay with the team.
Brown stepped up the 2009 NBA playoffs and made significant contributions off the bench while Morrison continued to ride the pine.

The 2009 Eastern Conference Finals will begin on Wednesday when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Orlando Magic. Mike Brown Named NBA Coach of the Year

Mike Brown, the head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been named the 2009 NBA Coach of the Year. After leading the Cavs to 66 wins, a franchise record, Brown was this season’s obvious choice.
At 38, Brown is one of the youngest winners of the ultimate coaching award. His dedication to defense is credited for making the Cavs a dominant defensive team. Thanks to the team’s defense and the outstanding play of LeBron James, Cleveland has home-court advantage for the duration of the 2009 NBA playoffs.

Derrick Rose Blossoms in First Playoff Game

Derrick Rose is the likely 2009 NBA Rookie of the Year. In the first playoff game of his career, he showed the world exactly what makes him a great prospect. The 20-year-old point guard scored 36 points, dished off 11 assists and grabbed four boards.
Perhaps even more impressively, Rose was able to lead the Chicago Bulls to a overtime victory over the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics. Entering the overtime period tied at 97, the Bulls were able to win by a final score of 105-103.

Kevin Garnett to Return for One Game

Out since March 25th, Kevin Garnett is going to have to get ready for the 2008-09 NBA playoffs in a hurry. Doc Rivers, the head coach of the Boston Celtics, said that Garnett will play in only one regular season game the rest of the way. That game is set to be the regular season finale against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, April 15th.
Out of the last 24 contests, Garnett has been forced to miss 20 of those games. He’s suffering from a right knee strain that has hampered his explosiveness and has caused quite a bit of pain.
