Anyway, Freddie will be joining the cast of 24 in a recurring role.  His character, Davis Cole, is a “recently returned Marine who runs CTU Field Ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) footsteps.” 

Maybe this will attract some viewers who haven’t seen the show (I will admit to never having watched a single episode).  In case you are as unfamiliar with 24 as I am, the show is in real time so that each season depicts just 24 hours in the life of Jack Bauer, who works with the United States government as it fights fictitious terrorist threats to the United States. 

As a side note, while I was researching for this post, I discovered that it’s also the second longest-running espionage series in television history in two different ways.  The longest running espionage show (in terms of episodes) is the original Mission: Impossible while The Avengers takes first place in terms of longevity of broadcast.

Freddie won’t be the only “new guy” on the set.  Slumdog Millionaire star, Anil Kapoor, was also recently named as a new addition.

Freddie Prinze Jr. Joins Cast of “24”

Beginning and ending at 8:00 am, this season focuses on a major national security incident that results from a breach in America’s government computer infrastructure.  The firewall was taken down by the same group responsible for the conflict in Sangala.

As if that isn’t enough, this season is also one of firsts – Allison Taylor takes on the role of the show’s first female president and it is also the first time the events take place outside of Los Angeles.

There is some old familiarity too, however, as loyal viewers will recognize cast members from previous seasons.

Season 7 of “24” Now Available

It’s being reported that the actor has signed a deal to appear as a regular cast member on the eight season of Fox’s hit show.  Apparently, he will play a “leader from the Mideast who comes to the U.S. for a peacekeeping mission.”

In Slumdog, Kapoor played Prem Kumar, the sketchy host of India’s version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

“Slumdog” Star Kapoor Joins Cast of “24”
