Is 8 to 12 Reps Really the Best?

Many weightlifters go under the general guise of 8-12 reps is the best range of reps (myself included), but that’s not actually the case according to a Men’s Health Total Fitness Guide. While 8-12 is good for maintaining, the extremes give you more gains.
High weight enlarges your muscle fibers and give you more strength. High reps provides you more energy and endurance. In contrast, 8-12 is the medium range and a compromise between the two. You have probably seen a hundred videos claiming you can workout just five minutes a day and have the most perfectly toned body in existence. But we all know that getting in shape and staying shape takes hard work. There’s no miracle 5-minute complete workout and you can’t get a 6-pack by doing crunches for just two minutes a week. Get Off Of The Floor With Your Ab Workout

There is just something about doing ab exercises, whether they are crunches or sit-ups on the floor that seems undesirable to me. Doing sit-ups kind of hurts my tail bone so when I used to do the on the floor I would place a smaller pillow under my butt. These days I either do crunches on my bench or I just use my Ab Straps with my pull-up bar.
