Mr. Gaddy Goes To Washington

The University of Washington that is.
Abdul Gaddy, one of the top recruits in the nation, who had originally committed to the University of Arizona, but had a change of heart after Wildcats coach Lute Olson announced his retirement last week, has verbally committed to Washington.
His father, Abdul Gaddy, Sr. made the announcement on Tuesday on dawgman.com.
Gaddy, a 6-foot-3, 170 pound senior point guard is from Bellarmine Prep in Washington will make it official during the early signing period on Nov. 12.
Gaddy was also considering UCLA once the wheels started falling off at Arizona.

Fallout From Lute Olson’s Resignation

I guess when you have a hall of fame coach who resigns suddenly, there is going to be some uncertainty among recruits.
Since Arizona University coach Lute Olson announced his retirement last Thursday, three players notified the school that they are taking their services elsewhere.
Arizona media is reporting that Abdul Gaddy, Solomon Hill and Mike Moser have opted out of committing to the Wildcats.

Just as I was reeling from the Manny Ramirez trade out here to the Dodgers, I come across this tidbit of news from the world of college basketball.
Reports are that the Memphis University basketball team, the same team that was a three-pointer and a bad coaching decision from winning the NCAA championship last spring may have committed an NCAA violation.
A school booster who is also the president of FedEx in Memphis contacted another FedEx employee in Tacoma, WA by phone who has a son in high school being recruited by the Tigers, which is a violation of NCAA rules.
