How about Thumbstacks? The interesting item from this news story is the alleged focus of Google in this arena:
“Google doesn’t expect enterprise users to use online versions of office applications.

Seems to be that Google is looking for a presentation application to add to their online office-suite type apps. What would an online presentation package look like? How about Thumbstacks? The interesting item from this news story is the alleged focus of Google in this arena:

“Google doesn’t expect enterprise users to use online versions of office applications. It will be a long time, if ever, before Web-based applications provide the extensive functionality of traditional office suites,” Gartner said in a research note released Tuesday. “In many cases, however, the reduced-function Web-based applications are ‘good enough.’ And they may be particularly good enough when employed in ‘civilian’ collaborative environments (for example, by “soccer moms” or by investment clubs) or environments where nothing is installed today.”

I think this could be a very accurate representation of Google’s “target” if you will. Using this base, it’s obvious it could lead to bigger things in the future, but I’ve said it before, I don’t think any of these applications are really capable of knocking off their Microsoft counterparts in the market.

I will add though, I wonder how many consumers are really aware of the ability for “soccer moms” to buy fully-functional versions of Microsoft software at reduced rates through academic/student pricing, as well as charity pricing?
