People generally aren’t talking about Clemson football this year, but maybe they should be, because there is some real talent on the team. During their Week Four game against TCU, tailback CJ Spiller achieved something that has only been done once before in major college football.
The feat in question? After a 60-yard pass reception, he became the second person to ever have at least 2500 yards rushing, 1500 yards in kick off returns, 1000 yards receiving, and 500 yards in punt returns. Mark Herzlich may not be a household name, but he’s a rising star at Boston College and was named 2008’s defensive play of the year for the ACC. That’s really saying something when six ACC defensive players were drafted in the first two rounds this year. Teammate B.J. Raji was actually a top-ten draftee. Herzlich decided to come back for a senior year at Boston College, though.
