Xbox LIVE Arcade Game – “Watchmen: The End is Nigh”

The Watchmen film was released last Friday and it did reasonably well at the box-office.  Now you can bring home the action by downloading Watchmen: The End Is Nigh from the Xbox LIVE arcade.
Players (you can play as either Rorscach or Nite Owl) must answer the call and save their city from crime, terror and Underboss, who has broken out of prison.
The action in this superhero-type game is undeniable as you can take on up to 20 enemies at a time using street-fighting moves.  You can also engage in multiplayer, split-screen mode.
Here’s the trailer:

Xbox LIVE Arcade Review: Castle Crashers

It’s been out a while but I only got to try Castle Crashers last night for the first time and I’ve got to say that I really, really liked it.  It’s silly and colorful and all of that but it’s actually a lot of fun.  The controls are easy to learn from the beginning but as you unlock more moves, there are useful on-screen prompts providing instructions.  Similarly, the enemies are challenging enough to be fun but not so overwhelming that you want to give up.
This Xbox LIVE Arcade game is in the Action & Adventure and Role Playing …read more

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel on XBox 360

For the fantasy game lover and fans of Sacred, you’ll probably love Sacred 2: Fallen Angel available on the Xbox 360 as well as the Playstation 3 and PC.

The world of Ancaria is driven by it’s magical source, T Energy, which has been watched over by Seraphim, who has the fate of the world in his hands. But when Seraphim passes down the knowledge to the High Elves, everything goes wrong. They break out in war and feuds, ruining the harmony of their world.
If that isn’t enough, the T Energy goes haywire and becomes negative, forming evil across the …read more

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Now on Xbox 360

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was released today and, judging from the screenshots below, it’s definitely going on the “JayTheWonderCat is NOT Playing This” list.  Does it look like it’s a great quality, FPS game?  Yes, it really does.  That’s the problem – it looks too realistic for a chicken like me.  I’d be locked up in an institution somewhere if I played this.  MANIACJYLE, on the other hand, will probably be renting it and we’ll be able to put up a review.
In the game, an unexplained explosion unleashes the wrath of the all-powerful Alma Wade who must be stopped by …read more

The Lord of the Rings: Conquest on Xbox 360

Return to Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings: Conquest where, as a player, you can choose whether you will serve good or evil.
The game has a lot to offer allowing players to choose from eight epic battles from the films as the hero or nine campaigns for the evil side.  Wow!  You will get to answer the question: "What if Sauron stopped Frodo from destroying the One Ring?" As a fan of the trilogy, I’ve always thought about that so I’m looking forward to trying to solve that mystery through gameplay.

Some of the other game …read more

World in Conflict: Soviet Assault On Xbox 360

World in Conflict: Soviet Assault is available on Xbox 360 as of today and I have to say that I love what I’ve seen.  It’s definitely a first-person shooter game but it does require a good amount of strategy and obviously, action.  I’m not really one for these types of games but the gameplay and effects in the trailer looks realistic, which appeals to me.
The plot centers around the main characters (American) battling in a Soviet-led World War III.  You can engage in a single player campaign but you can also participate in intense online team-based multiplayer battles.

An Xbox 360 Christmas at My House

With three kids and two gaming parents, it was pretty obvious that we were going to end up with some Xbox 360 games in our home this Christmas season.  I haven’t had enough time to play with each of the games to give a full review but here are my first impressions:
Lego Batman: The Video Game is fantastic!!!  I wasn’t a huge fan of the Star Wars or Indiana Jones Lego games (they were fine but were either too hard or too easy) but this game, so far, is just perfect.  It’s cooperative so you’ve got to figure out …read more

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 Japanese Trailer

I came across the Japanese trailer for Dynastic Warriors: Gundam 2 since the game was released in Japan last week (North American gamers won’t see it until sometime in the first quarter of 2009).  This sequel is similar to the first from what I’ve seen and read but I won’t know until I’ve actually had a chance to play it.  The main focus, of course, is still on melee play so if you hate that sort of thing, avoid this game like the plague…

Rise of the Argonauts on Xbox 360

Rise of the Argonauts comes out on Xbox 360 on December 16, 2008 and it looks pretty cool if you like role-playing games.  The plot basically follows Jason, the Greek king, and his Argonauts on their quest to find the Golden Fleece.  You’ll encounter familiar names and characters like Hercules, Achilles, Perseus and King Leonidas.
Jason’s wife, Alceme, is killed and the only way to bring her back to life is to find the Golden Fleece.  Naturally, it’s not going to be easy so you will have to help him in his journey.  Here’s the official trailer:

Prince of Persia Now Available on Xbox 360

Like the Sands of Time trilogy, the new Prince of Persia (released on December 2, 2008) will have all the acrobatics, puzzle-solving and combat play that gamers grew to love but the experience will be totally different in the sense that will be able to explore any part of the world whenever we feel like it.
I love that for some games but I’m not sure how I will feel about this.  When it’s sort of an action-adventure quest game, I like a linear progression so I will have to play this to really get a sense of what it …read more
