Adam Vinatieri Injury Update – Knee Surgery

Adam Vinatieri, the kicker for the Indianapolis Colts, will be out up to two months after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The surgery was needed to remove a piece of knee cartilage.
Vinatieri, who is considered by many to be the clutchest kicker in the history of the NFL, has only missed three games in his career. This season, he was 6-for-8 on field goals and 17-for-17 on extra points. However, Vinatieri had been complaining about an ailing knee recently, so the kicker and the team decided to get it repaired now instead of waiting.

Adam Vinatieri Undergoes Hip Surgery

Adam Vinatieri, the kicker for the Indianapolis Colts, underwent hip surgery recently to correct a nagging hip injury. Although Vinatieri will have to avoid kicking for a while, the Colts fully expect to have him back for the beginning of the 2009 NFL season.
At 36, Vinatieri has cemented his legacy as one of the clutchest kickers in the history of the league. While with the New England Patriots, the team he was with during the first ten seasons of his career, Vinatieri’s boot was responsible for multiple playoff wins.
