Will Airlines Have Their Own Bailout?

The recession has been brutal for many businesses but the airline industry has suffered dramatically from soft ticket demand and unpredictable gas prices. Considering the dire straits that many of the world’s most prominent airlines are facing, a federal bailout for the airline industry may not be too far in the future.

Airlines still buying
Not sure how this happens, but according to the Economist the slide in the airlines’ fortunes has not yet affected Boeing and Airbus. I guess that’s where all of those new fees are going.
Say no to cell phone use
As most of you probably know, the EU recently moved to permit cell phone use on flights within European airspace. This post from FlyAwayCafe discusses a bill recently introduced in Congress which would ensure that the US does not follow suit.
