Competitive gaming is already a spectator sport, so why not cooperative gaming? After all, you can try almost anything inside online video.

Anyone who watches Diggnation has heard Alex Albrecht repeatedly mention his World of Warcraft adventures. That’s why he decided to make a show about them. Project Lore follows Alex and his friends as they battle and banter through WoW instances.

Oddly enough, Alex isn’t doing the show with Diggnation producer Revision3, but with rival producer Deca. I guess unlike TV stars, online video stars can work with whoever the Hell they want.

I used to listen to GuildCast, a long-running audio podcast about Guild Wars. Someone should make a Guild Wars video podcast. After all, it’s so much prettier than WoW.

If Project Lore succeeds, perhaps this coop battle-and-banter format would work with other games as well.

Diggnation Costar Launches WoW Show

Oh Kevin, I thought you were the poster boy for technological rebellion against bullshit. Now here you are on Diggnation announcing that your online video startup Revision3 just sold out to Fox News.

Also in this clip, Kevin Rose is switching to Windows and Alex Albrecht is switching to Mac. At that point, anyone who’s watched enough Diggnation knows they’re kidding.
