Congressional Report: AIG Stable

According to a report from the research arm of Congress, American International Group, one of huge financial institutions to experience extremely dire straits as a result of the financial crisis, has reached a point of stability. However, the same report has raised doubts concerning whether or not AIG will ever be able to restructure and pay back the money it borrowed from the government.

Protesters Visit Homes of AIG Executives

To get their message of anger across, a number of protesters headed to the homes owned by executives of American International Group. AIG executives have been in the news recently after reports indicated that they were to receive millions of dollars in bonuses despite AIG receiving more than $180 billion in federal bailout money.
Following a public outcry, it’s expected that the AIG executives will ultimately end up not seeing most of their bonus money. Going forward, the United States federal government says they will monitor bonuses closely for those companies that are receiving bailout aid.

AIG Gives Bonuses Totaling $165 Million

American International Group (AIG) lost more than $60 billion in the final three months of 2008 and has received more than $160 billion in federal aid. However, those facts won’t stop the $165 million that the company will hand over to its executives in the form of bonuses.

Former AIG CEO Files Suit

Hank Greenberg, the former American International Group, Inc. CEO, has filed a lawsuit against AIG. The suit claims that AIG has decimated his fortune by not being truthful about the company’s financial well-being.
This lawsuit is just another bump in the road for a company that is facing a number of huge obstacles. In the last quarter, AIG lost more than $60 billion. That dollar figure represents the largest loss by one corporation in one quarter in the history of the United States.

AIG Rescued for the Fourth Time

American International Group Inc., commonly known as AIG, is getting assisted from the United States federal government for the fourth time. This rescue calls for the government to hand over as much as $30 billion.
