The news that 21-year-old English lightweight phenom Amir Khan might be relocating to the States ranks as a wonderful unexpected charm. The lanky Lancashire lightweight is 17-0 and has been widely hyped in Britain as the next big thing, the diamond in the island nation’s boxing resurgence.

Boxing: Khan Closer To WBO Lightweight Title Shot
Amir Khan defeated Martin Kristjansen via seventh round TKO on Saturday in a WBO Lightweight Title eliminator to move closer to a shot at the WBO title Nate Campbell currently holds.
Khan scored three near-consecutive knockdowns late in the seventh round to earn the TKO stoppage victory.
Khan, the Commonwealth Lightweight Champion, improved to 17-0 with the win and is currently ranked 3rd by the WBO and 5th by the WBC.
Kristjansen dropped to 19-2-3 in the losing effort.
