Get Night Guidance via Wertago

There are thousands of mobile applications and more and more applications are sprouting everyday. Some applications are poorly developed while some applications are really good, and some that are very creative.

How about an application that gives directions? This should fall under “common”, “uncreative” applications in the market. But what if its an application built for night life? I think that changes things and we now have a creative application. This application called Wertago is a premiere mobile application that was built for people with a nightlife. Wertago provides up to the second information about hot venues, the ability to share …read more

Find a Bank and More via Places Directory

Places Directory is an application built by a Google engineer based in Taipei who traveled frequently to Mountain View California to help in locating places in a small category. I could relate as every time I am in the United States I wish I could just quickly locate certain shops out of a mobile device instead of going through pages and pages of internet to get to where I need to. Anyways, the Google engineer and his colleagues decided to dedicate 20% of their time to build the application, “places directory”. Once they have completed the app they have uploaded …read more

Greed is Good, especially 1.1.11

Greed is good especially when it resides on your Android and has been updated to version 1.1.11. The greed I am talking about is the application for Android phones which reads through Google reader. The latest version is said to be better than the actual Google reader that is deployed online – Google Reader. The bigger feature of Greed is its ability to cache your feeds on the SD card that can be viewed at a later time. Simply put, Greed gives you the ability for offline Google reading. Aside from this, Greed also gives you the power to subscribe …read more

Quick and Fast Way of Dialing Customer Service

I really hate calling customer service numbers and while most companies promise to have excellent customer service, an automated and well built customer computer system, most of them fall short of providing a quick and simple way of dialing in and getting what you want from the vendor. I don’t have a landline and am using a prepaid cell phone and what is annoying is to call a customer and listen through 3-5 minutes of crap. Some vendors even go out of their way and mention all sorts of promotions before you can actually go in and reach a customer …read more

Android for the Masses with HTC Droid

One of my colleagues told me almost 10 months back that Android is the future of mobile applications. I have never thought about Android and never realized it exists but I was still curious why he treated Android as the platform of the future.

As the months moved forward I began to see one device after another being created on the Android platform. Verizon one of the technology communications giant has began rolling out a product line of Android powered devices. Google Apps became more and more powerful and popular and its integration with Android boosts the future of the platform …read more

Android Netbooks

The Wall Street Journal  reported that Acer would be shipping netbooks loaded with Google’s open-source Android platform beginning the third quarter of this year. Acer is still continuing their Windows based netbooks but would add Android in the mix. Acer in previous months already announced their disbelief on the power of Android and they didn’t have any plans on selling netbooks loaded with Android.

According to Jim Wong, the head of IT products and business line of Acer, “For a netbook, you really need to be able to view a full web for the total internet experience, And Android …read more

Android Powered Samsung Devices

Samsung, top handset maker, has officially announced that they are launching three Android phone this year. Samsung should have built Android phones last year but noted that Google’s vision was a factor to the delay.

Google is known to court carriers to power their handset offering with Android, and despite the slow adoption, Samsung’s decision is one success at a time for the search giant. Verizon has earlier indicated that they are no longer exclusive to LiMo platform.
