Aftermath of the Coleman/Budinger Incident gets out of hand

There was a lot of discussion this week over the incident where University of Houston player Aubrey Coleman was ejected after he stepped on the face of University of Arizona player Chase Budinger in a game last week.
Coleman was wrong and was punished by Conference USA. He even went on to issue a public apology.
End of story, right?
Think again.
Coleman is black and Budinger is white, so you know where this is going.
There’s a story out today that says since the incident Coleman has been receiving “racially charged emails and calls.”

Arizona Could Lose As Many As Six Players Because Of An Error By Olson

Things seem to have gotten out of hand at the Pac-10 power since Lute Olson announced his retirement last month.
Word is that the Wildcats may have see if six players need to regain eligibility by the NCAA before Monday’s NIT Season Tip-Off against Florida Atlantic, according ESPN.com.
According to a story on Friday by ESPN.com’s Andy Katz, sophomores Zane Johnson and Jamelle Horne and freshmen Garland Judkins, Brandon Lavender, Kyle Fogg and Alex Jacobson may have to seek reinstatement as a procedural matter, if the players were given impermissible expenses while participating in the Cactus Classic, an AAU tournament held in …read more
Arizona Moves Fast In Naming Interim Coach

Man, that was fast!
The Wildcats announced today that assistant coach Russ Pennell will take over as interim coach just 24 hours after Lute Olson announced his retirement.
Associate head coach Mike Dunlap was originally offered the top job, but turned it down. Dunlap will keep his current position along with assistant coach and former Wildcats player Reggie Geary.
“Russ is a veteran assistant coach with a wealth of coaching experience,” Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood said in a statement. “His experience of working in three of the best basketball conferences in the nation will serve us well.”
