Just this morning I posted on how coach Andy Kennedy is being accused of punching and verbally assaulting a cab driver in Cincinnati and for bad geography. He is now suing his accusers for accusing him of punching and verbally assaulting said cab driver, his witness and for being accused of bad geography.
You still with me?
Now Kennedy’s troubles extend to the court as well.

Now Kennedy’s troubles extend to the court as well.

The wires are reporting that the fourth leading scorer in the Southeastern Conference, 5-foot-10 inch sophomore point guard Chris Warren is out for the season.

Warren tore a ligament in his left knee late in the game in a loss to No. 9 Louisville on Thursday. He was averaging 19.6 points a game.

Starter Eniel Polynice and reserve Trevor Gaskins are also on the bench because of knee injuries.

And to make matters worse, the Rebels football team was sentence to play high scoring Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2.

Not a good time to be a Rebel.

Whoa!
Just seconds after that last post, I’m still online and see there’s a story on Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy suing his accuser and witness for defamation.
According to this story from the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Associated Press, Kennedy is suing the cab driver he allegedly assaulted and called “Bin Laden” and other racial slurs, as well as some valet who witnessed the incident and told police $25,000.
First off, if Kennedy wins, where is this poor cab driver and valet going to come up with $25,000?
Secondly, does this excuse Kennedy from the accusation that he doesn’t know the difference between an [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy is in complete favor of a foot thick three point line for college basketball.
“I’m not in favor of keeping two lines on the floor,” Kennedy said. “I think it will really create confusion with the women’s line not moving and now moving the men’s line back another foot. I know they’re going to be contrasting colors, but you’re asking for problems as it relates to which line was it behind: ‘We’ve got to check the monitor.

Really, is he the first to come up with this idea? If he is, then he’s a genius.

If you are behind it, it’s good for men, and if you’re touching it, it’s good for women,” Kennedy said. “I’ve been told that wasn’t feasible, but I think two lines will cause confusion. … I’m talking about a line that’s a foot thick. It would look odd, but we’d get used to it in a year.”

source

He’s right. It would be a bit different to have this thick line out on the court, but nothing that couldn’t become normal after a little while.

Is Kennedy’s idea a realistic one?

Is the NCAA too stubborn to consider it?

Though this new 20 foot 9 inch three point line is still a far cry from the 23 foot 9 inch line for the pros.

If the NCAA really wanted to open up more room for dribble drives and lessen the dependency on threes, 21 foot and 9 inches would have been a more proactive length to set the line at.

Most three point attempts are about a foot out from the old 19 foot 9 inch line anyway. At least they seem like it.

I don’t expect any significant changes due to the line being moved a foot back.
