Anna Kournikova Fights With Girl in Bar

Anna Kournikova has gotten a lot of flack over the last few years as the tennis player who never plays tennis. Instead, we see her on TV and in music videos. (Not a bad life, if you ask me.)

Well now, she’ll be known as the tennis star who gets into bar fights. Apparently “an unidentified woman threw a drink” at her while she was in Vegas at Lavo. She was at the Hardbat Classic table tennis tournament (at least it’s related to tennis…. sort of) and some woman came up to her and tossed a drink in her face. Nasty.

But Anna was no push over. She “starting screaming at the woman and shoving her.” The two got into a fight (girl fight!) and the woman got kicked out, not before she managed to leave Anna with some big scratch marks on her.

What’s the lesson here? She may be gorgeous with lots of pretty blonde hair, but don’t mess with Kournikova!

On March 24th , tennis star Anna Kournikova visited the Good Morning America set. As she left, she was bombarded by some very excited  fans.

A fan who was a little too excited, accidentally poked Kournikova in the eye with a picture. Ouch! She seemed to smile it off and seemed to be okay as she drove away.

Today, March 25th , Anna was spotted at the New York Stock Exchange . She rang the NYSE opening bell and posed for pictures. What’s next for this Russian tennis star. On May 2nd , she is headed to the Legendary Night at the Turning Stone Event Center in Verona, New York. The night will start off with a match between John McEnroe and Jim Courier . After they are done, the ladies will come out for a mixed doubles match.

Sounds like one fun night! More photos of Anna Kournikova signing autographs below. Read more

When Your Tennis Career Isn’t Impressive, Pose for Playboy

You’ve got a killer bod but your tennis career isn’t quite taking off. What’s an atheltic hottie to do?

Why, pose for Playboy, of course.

We know that the heads-up about American player Ashley Harkleroad giving ol’ Hef a photographic thrill hit the media several months ago. Now that the August 2008 issue is here, we’re just tossing out a friendly PSA your way.

The “it’s in, it’s out, it’s over” jokes are almost too easy, so we invite you to make your own. Kind of like Build-A-Bear, only less-family friendly.

Think Harkleroad is just following the footsteps of Anna Kournikova or Maria Sharapova? Think again. Neither of them have posed for Playboy. Harkleroad is the first tennis player to reveal her birthday suit for the mag.

Hey, if Ashley Harkleroad never achieves notable results in tennis, she can take solace in the fact that she’ll at least be the answer to a trivia question some day.

What’s that? Oh, OK. If you insist . . . a few more pictures (but for the rest, you’re on your own).

Anna Kournikova Likes to Sweat

Be still, beating and bleeding hearts of Anna K. fans everywhere. The bombshell tennis-player-who-never-won-a-singles-title is not pullling an Andy Roddick anytime soon. The Russian hottie is saying No to Nuptials for the foreseeable forever, she tells People. Boyfriend of a lot of years Enrique Iglesias will remain just that.

The mag caught up with Kournikova after her participation in a triathalon where she lives, South Beach.

Two asides here:

A.) We were at the same party as Anna a few years back. Sadly, she left before we arrived. But still.

B.) We’ll be on the lookout for her when we head back to South Beach next month.

Oh, and just so you know, the post-triathalon chat is when Kournikova said, “I love the feeling of sweating.”

Dirty minds, the rest is up to you. We’ll let you take it from here.
