Assassin’s Creed 2 New Trailer

This trailer looks sick. Just freakin’ sick. Seriously.
As awesome as it looks, I’m still on the fence about this game.
Will the game play be exactly the same as in the first Assassin’s Creed?
Is it going to include 20 missions that all include the same basic steps but with different scenery and a different time period?
Right now, I don’t care.
I just want to drool over the pretty, pretty pictures and not worry about if the game is going to rock or if it’s going to suck. I won’t be pre-ordering it [even thought both the black and white versions look great] …read more
A Plea

So after I posted my I Miss Gaming post yesterday, I was struck by the realization that it’s awfully hard for one person to know about all of the awesome games that are out there to play.
The games that maybe didn’t make the most money or maybe didn’t get the most press but still rock and are games that have a hardcore following.
See? THOSE are the games that I want to play.
I want to play the games that people play because they LOVE them and not because they think that they should be playing them and then they find themselves …read more
E3 ‘09: Assassin’s Creed II impressions
June 10, 2009 by Robin Parrish

I’ve made no secret of the fact that Assassin’s Creed is my favorite game of all time. So naturally, getting my eyes on Assassin’s Creed II was my top priority at E3 2009. I’m happy to report that I succeeded, but I’m afraid there’s not much new I can tell you about the game that hasn’t already been reported elsewhere.
Instead, just feast your eyes on these incredible screenshots and that awesome pre-rendered trailer. They tell you pretty much everything you need to know about Assassin’s Creed II, which is coming this holiday season.
Second Assassin’s Creed Site is Live

Two videos for you today since the second Assassin’s Creed site has launched. *squee!!!*
The first video is the teaser that you get if you go to the website [http://assassinscreed.uk.ubi.com/assassins-creed-2/teaser/]. Not a lot of info is shown but it is a cool teaser and it’s pretty…and you know how I like pretty things.
The second video shows what happens if you can get into the website.
You need to have a webcam to access all of the areas. Click on the symbol in the middle of the screen after the teaser has run. That will give you access to a .pdf file that …read more
Prince of Persia E3 Trailer

I just downloaded this video from Steve via the PSN and have to say that I’m blown away. I had read about the new Prince of Persia game in Game Informer and was really impressed with the new artistic direction that the creators are taking with Prince of Persia.
The style is like a mix between Okami and Assassin’s Creed.
I Apparently am Incapable of Completing a Game

I’m such a looser.
I started thinking about games that I need to play and then I realized that I suck at completing games. I think the most recent game that I’ve actually finished was Okami.
How long ago was that? A while ago.
I’ve beaten Oblivion and Shivering Isles [if you can ever beat those games] but I didn’t have the balls to beat Drake’s Fortune.
Well, in my defense of that one, Drake’s is like a movie that you get to interact with occasionally. The husband was playing Drake’s on his own save and I was watching him play …read more
The Brits Love Assassin’s Creed

Not all British love Assassin’s Creed.
Case in point, my “boyfriend“. Then again, he does live in Australia, so maybe he doesn’t count any longer as British.
I promise there is a point somewhere in here.
Oh. Right. Why I said that the Brits love Assassin’s Creed.
According to GameIndustry.biz, Assassin’s Creed finished in the top spot across the pond in 2007. FIFA ‘08 came oh-so-close to kicking Altaïr’s ass, but missed the mark by a measly 1000 units.
[I really don’t think that we have to worry about FIFA ‘08 topping the charts in the US. We Yanks don’t seem …read more

My Gamer Crush

I know I’m married, but I’m allowed to have a little harmless obsession crush.
Right?
Since I am apparently incapable of writing my own Assassin’s Creed review, [you knew I'd weasel that in here one way or another] I have found someone to do it for me.
OK. So Yahtzee didn’t make this review for me per se, but I’ll just act like he did.
He points out just about everything that I both loved and hated about Assassin’s Creed and in a much more humorous fashion than I could have mustered. [or catsup]
Enjoy.
Assassin’s Creed Patch
December 3, 2007 by Amy Tucker

I haven’t mentioned my Assassin’s Creed “issues” before now because honestly, I thought that I was the only one having them.
The occasional load screen or game play freeze was beyond annoying, but it didn’t happen often [maybe five times total] and I just chocked it up to bad luck.
Well, apparently I wasn’t the only one with this problem.
Ubisoft has released a patch for the PS3 version and is available via the PLAYSTATION® Network.
I’m crossing my fingers that the patch will fix my “issues”
Updates to come if the patch sucks.
