Austin Scott’s Preliminary Hearing on Rape Charges

Today was Austin Scott’s preliminary hearing for the alleged rape incident that occurred at the beginning of the month. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which also included several misdemeanor charges regarding sexual assault.
The defense did drop the 2 felony aggravated indecent assault charges against the suspended Penn State tail back, citing lack of evidence for the reason these charges were dropped.

When it comes to the Austin Scott rape allegations, everyone seems to have a theory. ESPN and other news sources are simply reporting that the suspended Penn State running back was charged of rape, sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault connected to an October 5 incident with a girl he met at the bar. His mother, JoAnn, has been advised not to comment. Scott’s attorney, Joseph Amendola, has issued a statement saying that the sex was consensual and that his client is innocent. There’s speculation that Scott was involved in a rape. Who do you think you are? Get off that campus. Penn State is a place for EXCELLENCE.
In any case, JoePa has suspended Scott indefinitely. People in the locker room tell us that he told the others that Scott is “no longer a member of this team.” That’s pretty serious, especially for a guy who’s always given players the benefit of the doubt.
