Auto-Complete Email Addresses in Outlook

Here’s just a quick question about Outlook. After figuring out how to get Outlook to use the right address book on your computer, why doesn’t auto-complete work?
I know that once you start typing an address you’ll be prompted for addresses that you may be wanting to send an email to someone. The problem is that my understanding is that these are addresses that you’ve typed into the form before, similar to how Internet Explorer remembers previously typed URL’s in the address bar.

Outlook: Grab Addresses Out of Your Auto-Complete History

How many addresses do you have in your auto-complete history? How many of those are for people you e-mail regularly but aren’t added into your address book? If you wanted to send an e-mail to everyone you e-mail regularly, in and out of your address book, how would you do it?
If you didn’t know, and I didn’t until I read this post from Jason Powell, there’s a handy little tool that will read your auto-complete file and let you manage those addresses.

Modifications to My Browsing Preferences

After working through a user account rebuild on my main operating machine in the past 24 hours, I’ve come to appreciate the fact that I haven’t relied upon locally stored “Favorites” for quite some time. I had been a very happy user of Yahoo!’s toolbard and bookmarks function until they upgraded their toolbar and broken most of the features I really liked.
