Who Knows How to Resize Images

I’ve been working with a few new clients lately that have had questions about resizing images and formatting them for use on the web. Other friends have also asked me about resizing images for use in their profile pictures on sites like Facebook and twitter.

Obviously the picture above wouldn’t make a good profile photo. Almost my entire face is cut off in the image. The reason is the original resolution of the image as it came from my camera.

Show Your Face Online with Gravatars

When you’re out and about surfing the intarwebs you should stop by and make a comment or two when you stumble across a post you like. Leaving comments around the web allow people to get to know you online.

Another great way for people to get to know you is to show your face around the web too. You can combine both methods of letting people know who you are by using Gravatar.
Gravatar is a service that works in coordination with WordPress, Intense Debate, VideoPress and PollDaddy. Gravatar is a development from Automattic, which are the same people behind WordPress itself.

Since I’ve been playing with Xobni more one question I’ve come across is why doesn’t Xobni use Outlook’s own contact photo information?
That was somewhat of a rhetorical question because I didn’t really need an answer and it wasn’t worth completely pursuing for an answer.
What it did do though was make me wonder where Outlook keeps it’s contact photo information? I’m curious because I love that my phone displays the contact photo on CallerID when that person calls me.
