Finnish airline Finnair is launching daily flights to Tokyo in 2010. Finnair expands its Asian markets again like they have done in many years now. It may have been Finnair’s save as many other airlines are struggling with financial problems, Finnair did the right thing and took all Asian flights to itself.Finns are travelling to Asia more and more nowadays and therefore Finnair have many many flights to Asia. That is the reason they are getting Airbusses (A350) to long range routes and MD’s are going to be history.I know one pilot myself from Finnair and he said that the company is now very wanted in a pilot markets. He said also that he is very lucky to have a chance to educate him to the Airbus series. He is now a Embraer pilot, new planes as well to Finns.

Chinese are building Airbuses

Well, part of the plane anyway. There is a final assembly line in Tiajin and it will be open from today officially. All parts are transported from Europe to China via Hamburg according to Flightglobal.com. Chinese are coming to aviation markets too like they have done it in many industrial scenes like paper production and clothing. Even as the domestic aviation sector is undergoing a financial crisis, world’s top plane makers are optimistic about the Indian civil aircraft market.
Almost all top airplane makers, such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Gulfstream and Dassault, are expected to showcase their new products in Hyderabad next month. Eurocopter, Bell Helicopter and Cessna are also going to unveil some of their flying machines in the country’s first civil aviation airshow in the IT city.

Pilots sleep through landing procedure

Captain Scott Oltman, 54, and First Officer Dillon Shepley, 24, dozed off during the brief midmorning flight from Honolulu to Hilo, on Hawaii.

The Federal Aviation Administration suspended the men for the careless and reckless operation of an aircraft. Both were fired by Hawaii’s Go airlines, operator of the February 13 flight which was carrying 40 passengers.

Mr Oltman was also cited for failing to maintain radio communications and banned from flying for 60 days. Mr Shepley had his flying licence suspended for 45 days. Both completed their suspensions earlier this month but an FAA spokesman said he did not know if they were flying again with a different airline. You can find the rest of the story here

Plane Crash Kills 4, Injures Blink 182 Drummer

A Learjet has crashed in South Carolina, killing four people and critically injuring former Blink 182 band member Travis Barker as well as DJ AM.

The plane was carrying six people and was leaving shortly before midnight on Friday when air traffic controllers reported seeing sparks, said Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen on Saturday.

Debbie Hersman, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, says the plane went off the end of the runway, crashed through antennas and a fence and careened into an embankment across a five-lane highway, where it was engulfed in flames.

Pacific Simulators Sells Its First Flight Training Device To DAE Flight Academy

Pacific Simulators today announced the sale of its first professional flight training device – to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise Flight Academy.Modelled on the Boeing 737-800, the flight simulator will be deployed by DAEFA as part of its airline focused pilot training programme. The device is compliant with a recognised European standard for flight training devices, and is due to be independently certified by the Scandinavian CAA later this month. Pacific Simulators’ Chief Executive Bill Highet said the sale was a significant milestone for the company, and would be the first of many sales of its flight training devices internationally. Spanair theory

It is published now that some authorities have seen Spanair’s plane that crashed few weeks ago, that it’s flaps were not in the take-off position. Could be.

It is also said that no engine failure has detected and that engine fire theory is not a good anyway. We all know that a plane can take off with half engines. (Not with one engine, plane needs half the engines dear press).

But why write this? Because I have always wondered does it need flaps to be take off position? Can it take off without flaps?

And with this accident, aren’t there a warning system in every plane that take off configuration is not complete. As far as I know there is. If it worked like it should, pilot could have a warning and a chance to abort take off. Or try to put flaps down. Does that make any sense? If a pilot started to roll, is it possible to change the flap position? I mean in the runway…

Plane crash in Kyrgyzstan

Itek Air 737 crashed shortly after departure from Manas Airport in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Sunday. Kyrgyz and Russian news agencies are reporting that the aircraft was departing Bishkek’s Manas International Airport as flight 6895 for the Iranian capital Tehran. Only 22 of 90 passengers survived.
