Branding Topics That Got People Talking in 2007

Today I took a look back at some of the posts that got people commenting and talking on Brandcurve in 2007, and I was happy to see a bit of a mix. 
Naturally, the post I wrote about Paris Hilton around the time of her jail sentence drew some comments, but more interesting were the debates about the American Red Cross and Johnson & Johnson’s use of the red cross symbol.  I also enjoyed re-reading the comments about Pepsi’s Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash product.  I still haven’t found it in my local stores to try it!

Beyonce Knowles & Samsung Announce B-Phone

Beyonce Knowles has been creatively extending her brand outside of the music industry for years.  Today, her partnership with Samsung extended from a celebrity endorsement to a Beyonce branded cell phone called the B-Phone.
The B-Phone will sell for $99 at Walmart (NYSE: WMT) preloaded with Beyonce music, videos and photos as well as a contract with Sprint for service.
Beyonce’s B-Phone adds one more notch to the pop star’s long list of brand extensions including her Dereon clothing line and a perfume called True Star Gold by Tommy Hilfiger.  Beyonce Knowles also endorses Giorgio Armani’s Emporio Armani Diamonds fragrance.
