Last week, President Barack Obama linked video games to a sedentary lifestyle in a speech to the American Medical Association about health care reform. And certainly, we all know that sitting on a couch in front of your console or computer screen for hours on end isn’t great for your fitness level. However, EA SPORTS President posted a challenge to our American President on his official blog.

From Peter Moore:
Of course, I can’t resist pointing out that while I’ve always wholeheartedly endorsed moderation in anything you do, including playing games, it may be time for the President and his family to put their Wii to good use and fire up the 30-Day Challenge with EA SPORTS Active. This is a “game” even the President may not want to “step away” from.
…
Mr. President, here is my challenge to you: Try EA SPORTS Active and I guarantee you’ll need aides saying “Yes You Can!” to finish your first workout.
So what do you think? With President Obama step up to President Moore’s challenge and start to get active with EA SPORTS Active? Have you tried this Wii video game yourself? You can read about the participants in the Wii 30 Day Fitness Challenge and check out their results at easportsactive.com.
James Harrison to Skip Barack Obama Invite

Sometimes there are sports stories that make you scratch your head. This is one such story featuring James Harrison of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
Harrison, who set a record during the Super Bowl with a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown, said he will skip the customary visit with the President of the United States. Why will Harrison pass on the invite to meet Barack Obama?
This is what Harrison told Andrew Stockey of WTAE Channel 4 Action News: “This is how I feel — if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don’t win the Super Bowl. As far as I’m concerned, he would’ve invited Arizona if they had won.”
Wow. Just wow.
Harrison apparently doesn’t get the concept that the team that wins the Super Bowl gets an invite from the President to meet at the White House.
Wow.
What TV Shows Does Obama Watch?

Have you ever wondered what kinds of TV shows President Barack Obama likes to watch? I won’t lie, I’ve wondered about music but I assumed he really didn’t have time for television. I read an article on Variety.com that changed my mind.
Apparently, the American President loves to watch Entourage (me too!) which is about an up-and-coming actor and his group of friends (and brother) after he moves out to Hollywood. It’s based loosely on the life of Mark Wahlberg, who produces the series. I didn’t know that the character of Ari Gold (a talent agent played perfectly by Jeremy Piven) is actually based on Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel, who is actually the brother of Obama’s chief-of-staff, Rahm Emanuel. That’s got to make Ari’s antics even more hilarious.
How much does Obama like the show? One White House mouthpiece claims that the campaign schedule was rearranged so that he never had to miss an episode. WOW!
He also admitted to liking The Wire and ESPN’s “Sportcenter” (I watch it almost every night too!).
