Lawmaker Says Doll Gives Residents False Impression of How Hot Their Sister Will Be
A West Virginia state lawmaker has proposed a bill to ban sales of Mattel’s Barbie and dolls like her saying such dolls give brothers and fathers in the state unrealistic expectations about how hot their sister or daughter will turn out to be.
“There’s enough to be depressed about just living in West Virginia,” said Jeff Eldridge (D, Lincoln County), “We don’t need to be getting people’s expectations up that, in order to be beautiful, you need to have all your teeth.”
