It’s another preview of some great upcoming promotions in the world of Minor League Baseball. This week Jay Buhner’s Everett AquaSox and the Vero Beach Devil Rays top the list of some of the interesting happenings this week.
Buhner is the co-owner for the AquaSox, so he is bringing back one of the Seattle Mariners promotions from the mid-90’s. One where Buhner will give you a buzz cut before the game on Friday, August 8.
Vero Beach is running an Olympic Night on Thursday, August 7. In between innings, fans can participate in various Olympic-style events, including a warning-track …read more

The dizzy bat race is one of the greatest staples that Minor League Baseball teams have at their disposal for in-game promotions. Check out the video from Sunday’s Class AA Arkansas Travelers game in Little Rock where two lucky participants competed in the dizzy bat race.
The winner of the race rolls across the finish line after taking a tumble near the first-base line. It’s always a great promotion to get everyone at the game laughing, even the umpires and players.

It was another great week of caption submissions on the Bud Selig picture. This week’s winner is Rob!
Rob’s caption read, “MAHONEY!?!” Obviously – it was referring to the “podium gag” from one of the Police Academy movies. So, Rob – you are this week’s winner. Make sure to check your email.
Make sure you check back next Friday for another caption contest and don’t miss the ‘Thursday 10′ on this year’s worst players in the majors.
Also – just a reminder that June 24 is the deadline to enter the State Farm Call Your Shot contest for …read more

Today, I heard about two separate and unrelated baseball promotions taking place in the near future. One will happen tonight at the St. Paul Saints game. The Saints are well known for their wacky promotions and tonight’s does not surprise me at all.
The Saints are giving away a version of a bobblehead item, that is actually being called a “bobblefoot”. The lucky first 2,500 fans will receive an item recognizing National Tap Dance Day and an incident that took place in a Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport bathroom stall, involving Idaho Senator Larry Craig.
The “bobblefoot” is actually a …read more
