Get in Shape With Local Fitness Groups

You don’t have to be alone in getting in tremendous shape. Becoming fit also doesn’t have to be boring. Joining a local fitness group is often free and can be a great way to meet other people and compete your way to athleticism and fitness.
Before you join, research the groups to find out where the members are at physically. Some groups will include a wide spectrum from beginners to advanced exercisers. Others will have mostly advanced athletes and gear their workouts to a high level.

I bought a bike yesterday and I’m heading out to ride about 10 miles. This will be the first time I have rode such a distance in a long time and I’m really looking forward to the wind in my face and working up a good sweat. I’ve been wanting to get back in to bicycling for a long time but the roads here in NC do not have significant shoulders and it makes it kind of dangerous to ride.

Bicycling is great exercise. I used to do quite a bit of bicycling in my teens and my 20’s, but it’s kind of hard down here in NC because there is no paves shoulders on the road and it’s dangerous to try to ride on secondary roads. Tour de Fat in Full Force

New Belgium Brewing Company, the third largest craft brewer in the US, has kicked off the Tour de Fat this year, beginning in Chicago. The Tour is in its 8th year and continues to make an impression with parades, entertainment, bicycle skill contests, and, of course, beer. The Tour began as a means of increasing awareness and participation in cycling as a sustainable form of transportation.
The Tour, which has already hit Chicago and San Francisco, is scheduled to hit Truckee, CA, this weekend. The remaining schedule is:
