Kurt Rambis, the new head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, got two new assistant coaches on Sunday — Bill Laimbeer and Reggie Theus. Both Laimbeer and Theus have professional head coaching experience.
Laimbeer’s coaching experience came in the WNBA. In June, he stepped down as the general manager and head coach of the Detroit Shock. Kevin McHale has been with the Minnesota Timberwolves since 1994. But that era is over. On Wednesday, McHale let it be known that the Timberwolves failed to offer him a contract to return as head coach.
