Nickelback Named Group of the Decade

]]> Wow.  Canadian band Nickelback has been named the group of the decade by Billboard magazine.  What the heck?  I know they’ve done well for themselves but it just surprises me.  I live in Alberta now and it’s amazing to me to think that they came from the small town of Hanna here and have gone on to have such huge success.

Their song “How You Remind Me” was chosen as the top rock song of the decade and it also placed #4 on the Top 10 songs of this decade.  I can see that.  I really love that song.  I still listen to it all the time on my iPod.

To further solidify their spot as the best group in these past 10 years, Billboard cites that they have had five other Top 10 singles and that their last four albums have made it to the Top 10 albums chart.  It’s crazy!  Their All The Right Reasons album which was released in 2005 spent 156 weeks on the top-selling albums list.

]]> Have you seen the latest ad that appears on the Sunset Strip?

According to Splash News, it’s a stylish black and white billboard with both David and Victoria Beckham in their undies.

Stylish undies. But undies nonetheless.

They both are representing Emporio Armani underwear. Apparently “thousands drive past every day.” I’d like to see how many accidents happen at this intersection!

But while country fans are embracing her music, PETA is trashing her wardrobe. Because of that little red shirt Simpson wore while out with Romo, PETA is getting scarily controlling and bossy claiming she has no right—yes, you read that correctly—to eat meat.

Anyone else smell a future Simpson pop country tune all about enjoying country ribs?
