Nike Debuts Trainer 1 Shoe

Nike — along with Beijing Olympic Decathalon Gold Medalist Bryan Clay; and NFL players Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu; and NBA All-Stars Brandon Roy and Amar’e Stoudemire — introduced the Nike Trainer 1 today. The shoe is actually a blast from the past. It’s inspired by the popular Nike Air Trainer worn by Bo Jackson and John McEnroe 20 years ago.

Bo Knows Commencement

Bo Jackson, where have you been? Remember when Bo was everywhere? He was a Heisman Trophy winner, a football star, a baseball star…. an everything star. His pro-athlete career got cut short because of a hip injury, but even though he can run around professionally doesn’t mean he can’t inspire people.
Bo gave the comment address at Auburn’s spring grad ceremonies this past Saturday, which is completely appropriate since he got his degree there in 1995.

Is NASCAR driver Carl Edwards the next Bo Jackson?
Seems that the backfiring backflip episode on Sunday unleashed a long-held desire of the racecar specialist. We’ll let Frank Coffey and the goodfellas at eTrueSports.com take it from here:
NASCAR’S Carl Edwards, fresh off his victory in the Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has applied for a special exemption to join the U.S. Gymnastic team at this summer’s Olympic games in Beijing. “I want to take a crack at the trampoline,” Edwards said.
Really? *shrugs*
We had him pegged for the pommel horse.
