Press Sues NCAA and FSU

On Monday, the Associated Press and a number of other Florida media outlets banded together to sue the NCAA and Florida State. Recently, FSU received a response about their academic cheating scandal, and the school chose to keep these documents private while responding themselves. However, the press says that this is a blatant violation of Florida’s open government laws.

Bowden: “My Days are Limited”

Bobby Bowden hasn’t officially announced his retirement plans, but he alluded to the fact that he’ll only be around for 2009 and 2010. Bowden is one of the winningest coaches in major college football (second only to Penn State’s Joe Paterno – right now, at least, since they’re pretty much neck and neck), and he’s beloved on the Florida State campus…and that’s why he won’t talk about his retirement date.

JoePa Stands Behind Bowden’s Wins

Florida State may have to retroactively forfeit up to 14 wins as the NCAA investigates an academic cheating scandal. While the school has admitted that some of their students cheated and are accepting some of the NCAA sanctions, head coach Bobby Bowden has said that the school will appeal any punishments that will strip victories.
