ECW Shows Improvement
This weeks ECW truly took a step in the right direction in my book. The Lashley/Holly bout wasn’t the main event, CM Punk was back, Snitsky appeared again, and the New Breed/ECW Originals feud appears to be in full swing now. Here are the results from Tuesday’s episode:
ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley def. Hardcore Holly (Extreme Rules Match)
Marcus Cor Von & Kevin Thorn def. Tommy Dreamer & Sandman
CM Punk def. Mike Knox
Elijah Burke & Matt Striker def. Rob Van Dam & Sabu
Keep an eye on next weeks episode to see if Snitsky feuds with Lashley or Punk again or if …read more
ECW Recap – February 6th, 2007
Apparently ECW’s idea to reform the show is to have a feud between the “New Breed” and the “ECW Originals”. Considering how little this show seemed to have going for it this may not be a bad move, I’ll at least give it a fair chance. The originals include RVD, Sabu, Sandman, and Tommy Dreamer while the new breed includes Marcus Corvon, Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, and Matt Striker.
Mr. McMahon said coming into last nights episode that he was going to “Punish” the ECW orginals. Their punishment? Some of them would be in matches on the show but the catch …read more
Monday Night Raw Preview – February 5th
Tonights Raw should go a long way in answering the differing reports on what matches will be going down at Wrestlemania in a few weeks. undertaker will open up tonights episode supposedly to announce his opponent for his match. Now he may very well announce his opponent tonight but the suspense may also be continued. WWE seems to have made a really good storyline and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it continue for another week or so. He can choose from Bobby Lashley from ECW, John Cena from Raw, or Batista from SmackDown with my vote going towards him …read more
Third Time is Not the Charm for Test, ECW
ECW tried hard. They really wanted to sell us fans that Test was a true competitor for the title giving him three identical shots at it. What did we get out of the matchups? Lashley retaining, Test losing, and arguably the worst PPV ending ever. The seven minute match at the Royal Rumble failed us in every way possible but if that wasn’t enough we needed a third match last night.
Needless to say, Test lost again and Lashley retained. The match was same old same old but it got mildly interesting when Undertaker showed up but who really thinks he …read more
ECW Preview
In another “why in the world?” move ECW has announced that tonight main event will be yet again Test v. Lashley for the ECW title. Why ECW set this up after TEst left the ring at the Rumble I have no idea but I just pray someone gets involved or that there is anoter stipulation added to this match.
Mr. McMahon will make his first appearance on the “New Breed” tonight in a apparent continuation of Fan Appreciation Night from last night’s Raw. Not sure what he will bring to ECW but I sure hope it’s some excitement.
Kelly Kelly is expected …read more
ECW Main Event Changed
Last night and early today WWE.com was reporting that tonight’s main event would be an extreme rules match between Bobby Lashley and Hardcore Holly. Well all of a sudden this afternoon reports shifted and the main event is now Test against Bobby Lashley.
Now WWE has stated on their website that the entire shift was because Test demanded the match but I have to expect there is more behind this than meets the eye. Two things seem out of place with the newly announced match.
First, why would WWE have the same exact match tonight as the one that will be going …read more
Test Exacts Revenge After Lashley Retains
After Bobby Lashley retained his title last night on ECW Test went and attacked the recrowned champ with his own belt and taunted his as the show went off the air.
The no holds bar triple threat match was not all it was made out to be. Maybe it was just me but I was really not a fan of the match. I thought there was quite a bit of potential for ECW with this match but I was sadly mistaken. The match actually me lose interest last night while the rest of the matches kept me entertained.
I think the one …read more
Test Added To Title Mix; Triple Threat Match Tonight
Last week Test interrupted the rematch between Rob Van Dam and Bobby Lashley during their title rematch. Well it turns out the disruption as Test will go head to head tonight against RVD and Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match for the ECW World Title.
Also tonight Kelly Kelly will make her first appearance since her former “boyfriend” Mike Knox. ECW apparently ended the Mike Knox/Kelly Kelly storyline back in December and hasn’t been on the show for several weeks. ECW is hinting that she may be back for another Kelly’s Expose which hasn’t been on for a few months. …read more
Test Interferes in ECW Main Event
Well the Bobby Lashley and RVD main event was actually pretty good until Test got involved. Don’t get me wrong, I am not against Test as a wrestler but I am not for Test getting involved in main events. Anyways the bell rung when Test came in weilding a chair and using it on Lashley and Van Dam. I don’t think we will see a third match next week between RVD and Lashley but you never know.
Well I am pretty confident that with Khali’s move to RAW his feud with Dreamer is over. Last night was sort of the culmination …read more
ECW To Participate in Royal Rumble
ECW is going to participate in the nearly historic WWE Royal Rumble on January 28th. This is the 20th Royal Rumble ever. Not only will extremists take part in the PPV but they will also compete in the 30-man Royal Rumble Match.
In the past when only 2 shows were competing the teams were made up of 15 from RAW and 15 from Smackdown! but with the integration of ECW into the action it has not yet been revealed how many wrestlers from each show will be participating. I would guess there will be fewer ECW wrestlers than from other brands …read more
