Olympic Torch Hand-over Ceremony Happening Today

The Olympic Torch is currently staying overnight in Athens, Greece. It will leave ancient Acropolis in Athens headed towards its last destination in Greece.
The ceremony will take place at the Panathenaikon Stadium. The Olympic Torch will be ceremoniously handed over to representatives of BOCOG (The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad).
The Panathenaikon Stadium is the site of the first modern-day Olympic Games.

Calling for Torchbearers and Escort Runners!

Can you imagine mobilising 21,880 torchbearers and 5,000 escort runners for The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay?
Well, that’s what just commenced over the weekend. The article I read said that the process of choosing who get to participate will run until 31 October 2007 and the BOCOG will allow a number of different groups to put in place their own selection process for torchbearers and escort runners for this event for the 2008 Beijing Games.
