This semester is drawing to a close, and that means that we will soon see another semester — and another round of buying textbooks. How well I remember those days! The good news is that we now have a number of options beyond buying new (and likely being gouged) from the bookstore. Here are some great places you can find used textbooks and save money next semester:
Student boards and online book swaps: Many university student centers offer helpful boards where you can find students looking to sell books, or to swap them. Some campuses even have online book exchange web …read more

One of the items on my Christmas wish list for last year was an Amazon Kindle. I still don’t have one, and probably for the better because they’ve come out with a larger format version in the Kindle DX. If there’s one technology device that I would love to receive as a gift from someone this Father’s Day it would be the new Kindle DX from Amazon.com. I’m not sure exactly what it is about the device, but I absolutely love it and I haven’t even played with one with my own hands yet.
If I had a spare $500 laying around, this would probably be one of the first things I’d purchase myself. I love reading, I just don’t do enough of it. I read a lot of stuff on my phone when I’m out and about with dead …read more
Delicious Library

A wiseguy once said that you can judge a man by the applications he keeps on his computer. One such app I’ve come to include in my list of essentials is Delicious Library, which is nothing more than a virtual catalogue of my book, music, DVD and game collection.
What makes Delicious Library an engaging affair is the actual building of your vast library of books and showing it off to your friends. The library allows for tracking of books that you lent out indicating who borrowed it and when it becomes overdue.
Perhaps the best feature of Delicious Library is its …read more
