Brandon Marshall Suspended by the Broncos

Brandon Marshall has been unhappy for months. The wide receiver for the Denver Broncos has been unhappy for a variety of reasons, with his contract likely being the biggest reason. On Friday, the Broncos suspended Marshall through September 5th for his recent conduct.
Marshall’s unhappiness boiled over on Wednesday during practice. On a video available online, you can see Marshall walking when he should have been running, ignoring a ball thrown to him and punting away a football that came to him.
With the Broncos set to open their season September 13th against the Cincinnati Bengals, it appears as if Denver will …read more

Baltimore Ravens: Wide Receiver Rumors

If you are a fan of the Baltimore Ravens, chances are you want the team to add a wide receiver. Fans and analysts have been surprised that the Ravens haven’t looked to upgrade their wide receiving corps much this offseason.
That said, there are some Baltimore Ravens rumors swirling that the team could be looking to add a high profile wide receiver? Who could that be? Here are some options:
Anquan Boldin
When considering everything, Boldin makes a huge amount of sense for the Ravens. He’s a great receiver and has the type of mentality that should thrive in John Harbaugh’s system.

Brandon Marshall, Observant Readers, and the Joys of YouTube

Yay for commenters who leave fun things for us to post! Last month we posted about Brandon Marshall, the Denver Broncos wide receiver who had a McDonald’s wrapper mishap. (We also did a follow-up to Marshall’s slip-and-fall and subsequent arm laceration). Reader “boltvolt” recently left us a YouTube link in that post and observed how this 2-year-old Burger King commercial (23s)—complete with slippage over the goal line—happened to air around the time of the WR’s fall-down-go-boom. (Coincidence? You decide).

Thumbs up for readers who contribute to our blog foddah awareness!

It’s All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets an Arm Laceration

Well, well, well. There’s more to the Brandon Marshall–McDonald’s bout than the sports world initially thought.
ESPN reports that the “two-week cast and a few stitches” aspect of the story was a gross under-exaggeration. The Denver Broncos WR, according to the team’s trainer, ”sustained right forearm lacerations to one artery, one vein, one nerve, two tendons and three muscles.”
What’s more, he’s likely to be out as long as 4 months.
Even the Evil McDonald’s bag having it in for Marshall bit was a cover-up. Apparently he was engaging in some horseplay with his family when the fall-down-go-boom incident happened with the wrapper. (Consider this …read more

Broncos’ Brandon Marshall Versus the McDonald’s Wrapper

You know you’re having a bad day when a fast food bag roughs you up like nobody’s business. You know you’re having a really bad day when said rough-up results in a cast and stitches.
Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos crossed the path of one very ornery McDonald’s wrapper over the weekend. The WR slipped on it and put his hand through an entertainment center while breaking the fall. And we can’t know for sure, but we’re presuming that (a) some colorful language ensued and (b) a quick how-to demonstration on the Importance of Using Wastebaskets for Wrappers and Assorted Refuse took place for …read more
