Wheaties Fuel—The New Breakfast of Champions

Wheaties Fuel is a lightly sweetened, crunchy bowl of whole wheat flakes and crisp rice. The Trainer 1 is an innovative new lightweight training shoe that combines Nike’s training heritage with the latest innovation and design technology. So I hear. I’m just the messenger. I haven’t actually tried these shoes yet. But Adrian Peterson has and he likes them:

“The Nike Trainer 1s are extremely comfortable and the flexibility is awesome. I’ve already started wearing them for my training drills and for weight room workouts. It’s an amazing performance shoe that will give me an edge on the playing field.”

Of course, AD’s getting paid to say that but I’ll take his word for it. Anyway, as part of the launch event in Southern California today, the aforementioned Nike athletes led more than 50 local SoCal youth from all sports in a comprehensive training workout. Hopefully, they got some free shoes to take home. If not, they certainly got some great memories. Nike Debuts Trainer 1 Shoe

Bryan Clay of the United States won the Olympic decathlon on Friday and earning him the title of the “World’s Greatest Athlete.” Clay is the first American to win the event since Dan O’Brien won the Gold in 1996.

Clay, the 2004 Silver Medalist, led the event from “wire to wire,” earning so many points that he only had to jog around the track for the 1500m, the last event.

Andrei Krauchanka of Belarus earned the Silver Medal and Leonel Suarez of Cuba earned the Bronze. Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic, the reigning world champion and the defending Olympic champion, finished sixth.

The decathlon is made up of 10 track and field events, including the 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, 100m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin, and the 1500m–all completed in two days.
