Considering the latest off-court drama, it’s no surprise that Allen Iverson is contemplating retirement. The 14-year NBA veteran took a bit of a hiatus from the Memphis Grizzlies this past weekend in order to deal with “family issues.”

There were also rumors circulating that “The Answer” is frustrated and discontent with his new reserve role for Memphis. Iverson is used to being the star and the go-to player. He’s not used to coming off the bench in a supporting role.

Allen Iverson is considering retiring after 14 seasons in the NBA.

But this is the way it is, and Iverson isn’t the player he used to be. Somehow, his selfishness and ego have always managed to get in the way of his success and it’s the main reason why Memphis was the only team who expressed interest in signing him in the off-season. Terrible teams will take risks on players with poor personalities. Look at Terrell Owens. After he left Dallas, his lack of production and off-putting personality hindered his chances of signing with a playoff-caliber team. Instead, he landed in Buffalo where his numbers are shaping up to be the worst of his NFL career.

Iverson is in a similar situation. But rather than suffer through what is sure to be a disappointing NBA season, he’d rather call it quits.

It’s a shame that he has to go out like this. But unfortunately, “The Answer” has run out of answers.

I have previously written about the USB 3.0 format which was high speed and prime for video streaming (USB 3.0 for Video Streaming). The excitement for USB 3.0 continues and I am particularly waiting for Buffalo to release their Hard disk drives running on USB 3.0 before the end of the month.

Buffalo is one of the few companies I am loyal to for my hard disk usage as this company specializes in durable portable hard disks that can withstand rough travel usage. Buffalo is a company that has offices in Japan, USA, Germany, UK, Ireland and Taiwan and offer mostly networking and storage products.

The company has announced that their HD-HU3 series of USB 3.0 external drives is going to be the first one in the world to ship to retailers. Additionally, Buffalo is going to offer NEC’s IFC-PCIE2U3 2-port PCI-Express x1 host controller to complement their USB 3.0 hard drive.

The initial offering would be available in Japan and I am still happy because most likely the Philippine retailers would have this model as well within a month of its release. The storage space for these USB 3.0 drives would be 1 TB which costs $225, USD, their 1.5 TB which costs $284 USD, and a 2 TB drive for $ 530 USD. The controller would be priced at $60 USD.

Data is very important and I have the same files stored in multiple drives to ensure security of data. The Buffalo 2TB running at USB 3.0 is a welcome addition to my gear.
