Tiger was Tiger again on Sunday, outlasting the field to capture what may be the final Buick Open, the third time he’s won the tournament. The win at Warwick Hills was the 69th tour victory for Woods, and cemented why he is the game’s best closer. With the win on Sunday, Woods is now 36-1 in tournaments in which he’s had the 54 hole lead. Impressive numbers to say the least.
Tiger’s final round 3-under 69 put him at 20-under for the weekend, three strokes ahead of a group of three players, including secound round leader John Senden. Woods acknowledged how …read more

Maybe he was playing to prove a point, or maybe he finally found his lost putting stroke. Either way, Tiger Woods reminded everyone why he is the world’s best golfer after firing a brilliant 9-under 63 to put himself into contention at the Buick Open. His anemic opening round 1-under 71, in which his putting bordered on the criminal, had many wondering if Tiger was inline to miss his second cut in a row, after missing the cut at the British Open. But Woods put those doubts to rest by starting out 6-under through the first five holes, the best …read more

Tiger Woods knows better than anyone on tour that if you can’t putt, you can’t win. And on Thursday, he couldn’t putt. In his first tournament since missing the cut at the British Open, Tiger shot a 1-under 71, a round which had him tied for 128th in putts of 10 feet or less, and eight strokes back of first round leader Steve Lowery. While Woods was in the middle of his woeful performance, Lowery was the exact opposite. His front nine score of 29 tied a course record, and he continued his fine play en route to a 9-under …read more

It’s been a good news/bad news kind of week for the Buick Open. Despite ending his endorsement deal with Buick one year early, Tiger Woods has decided to play in this week’s Buick Open at Warwick Hills, an event he has won twice in his career. Unfortunately for the PGA, General Motors has decided to pull the plug on sponsoring the tournament, which means this year’s Buick Open will most likely be the last.
According to an unidentified person close to the situation, GM and tour officials will make the announcement at the conclusion of the tournament, which ends this coming …read more

While many of the players on the PGA tour opted out of this week’s Canadian Open, others are announcing their commitment to play in the upcoming Buick Open. The tournament runs through August 2nd at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club, just outside of Flint, Michigan. Tiger Woods is the latest tour pro to announce his participation in the event. By playing in the Buick open, it seems as though Woods is determined to play in the two tournaments preceding the PGA Championship.
