A common weight lifting myth among women is that lifting weights will result in a bulked up body. This is not only not true, but just the opposite. Weight lifting can play a big role in women slimming down and becoming more toned.
Why is lifting weights beneficial?
Weight lifting builds lean muscle in your body. Lean muscle helps you burn calories and lose weight by increasing your daily metabolic rate. Muscle burns calories at a rate of 3:1 over fat.
