Like a Kid in a Candy Store

I’ve been thinking about my Christmas list of games: Assassin’s Creed II, Borderlands, Little Big Planet Game of the Year Edition, Call of Duty: World at War.
If I were to buy all of these games, the cost would equal $230.96 [not including shipping or tax]. That’s a hunk of change.
I can get two iPhones for that.
Or, I could get eleven casual games [if they were $20 a piece].
I bring up the casual games idea after reading a piece by Eric von Coelln about Facebook eating the PC Download game model.
What I took away from the piece is that there is …read more

PETA Fights Animal Cruelty in Video Game

The very passionate group, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is joining forces with some students who are protesting Call of Duty, World of War. Why?  Because there are times in the game when dogs get shot.
In an effort to raise awareness and educate the game developers at Activision Blizzard, PETA is making their “Developing Empathy for Animals” seminar available free of charge.  As an added incentive, they are also sending them a package of the dog-friendly Nintendogs games.
I understand the logic behind PETA’s actions but I do wonder if there is a time when you can draw …read more

Call of Duty: World at War – Memory lost

I was trying to play Call of Duty: World at War with my son in co-op mode but none of the levels seemed to unlocked. At first I freaked out cause that usually means that someone accidentally deleted your gaming profile. Except that all of my achievements were there – I just couldn’t play. Strange! seems like a glitch to me. Anyone else having the same issue.

Top 20 Games Played on Xbox LIVE in 2008

Major Nelson has listed the top 20 most played games of 2008 on Xbox 360 through Xbox LIVE.  I wasn’t too surprised to see games like Guitar Hero III and Rock Band on the list (even though GH World Tour and RB 2 have been released) since, whenever I play those games, I’m on there for a good hour but I was surprised by UNO.  I guess I should give that game a chance before I judge it but that just seems like a card game I play with actual humans on a snow day.
I also love the fact …read more

Play Call of Duty: World at War with Black Stone Cherry

Apparently I have something in common with rock group Black Stone Cherry – we all love the game Call of Duty: World At War. If you love the band then you’ll enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity. Xbox Live is setting up a Game With Fame event so that you can game with these famous guys.

Game begins Monday, January 12, 5:30 P.M. ET.

Check out the Game With Fame: Black Stone Cherry for gamertag and further information.
If you don’t have Call of Duty: World at War yet get it at the Xboxxer Store for $49.99

Dog Attack on Call of Duty 5

Wow, those dogs are vicious. If you’re lucky enough you could stab one in time, but missing means an instant game over. I thought maybe a few seconds of struggling with the dog might be more realistic, but to be dead after three seconds is a bit much. They’re not super mutated German Shepherds (or are they?). Well if you hear the barking it best to have you semi-automatic ready cause they come with little warning.
