Modern Warfare 2 Sells 7 Million in One Day

I knew that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was going to be huge but this is unbelievable.  In the first day alone, seven million copies flew off the shelves.  It’s breaking all kinds of records including selling twice as many copies as Grand Theft Auto IV did last year.

I don’t know why we didn’t pre-order a copy but we failed to reserve one and now we are sitting here without the game while seven million other people are enjoying themselves.  Not a good feeling…

Pre-order “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10, 2009 but you can pre-order it now.  This first-person tactical shooter game is the sixth installment in the series.  The first Modern Warfare really appealed to some players who wanted a change from being in old war environment since it takes place in the present day.

I will write a more in-depth overview of the game when it is released but I can tell you that gamers will experience modern combat settings with new weapons, action and options in single player, multiplayer and the co-op Special Ops Mode.

I am Never Wrong; Just Misinformed.

Well, in my earlier postings I said that Call of Duty: World at War was Call of Duty 5.  That was not an accurate statement.  There is no Call of Duty 5.  The correct name is Call of Duty: World at War.  That means that Infinity Ward could still be tapped to develop it.
A boy can dream.
That being said, why is it that games (and movies) for that matter can not be done in sequential order.  Nothing pisses me off more than to get the wrong game because it was not in any kind of known order.  With the interest …read more

Get Steve!

Actually it is Steve_III. That’s my call sign when I play COD4. I am not the best player out there, but I am better than you.  Don’t believe me?  Try me.
I can be found on-line Mon-Sun.  from 1200-1400 and 1900-2200.  I don’t get to play everyday, but I do play a lot during those times.  If you do happen to kill me I want proof.  Either a video, screen shot, or a detailed account.  Just post it in the comment section for all the world to see.
When I came up with this idea my friends and family asked if I …read more

The Greatest Genre

I did a lot of research on the subject of why I am so upset with the release of Call of Duty 5. Then I realized all I really needed to say was that Activision sucks!
Let me explain how I got there.
First Activision, with the help of Infinity Ward, launched Call of Duty. It was one of the better WWII shooters for its time. Unfortunately, like all good things, when they make money they are beaten to death. The WWII shooter is one of those good things.
By 2006, I was shell shocked and suffering from battle …read more

New Commanding Officer…Ten-Hut!

My name is Tucker.  I have assumed all duties that pertain to FPS Rantings.  Whereas, I am new to blogging, I have been playing video games since the mid 1980s.  I started with an ATARI 2600 where I was the vine swinging, scorpion jumping, ladder climbing, king of the jungle.  It was not until the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) that I was introduce to the FPS.  Duck Hunt was crazy.  Actually shooting a gun at 8-bit  ducks was mind blowing, I was hooked.  This love affair served me well throughout high school, my time in the U.S. Navy and …read more
