The state of Wisconsin doesn’t. A recent Journal Sentinel investigation found more than 340 admitted criminals, including drug dealers, burglars, thieves and a killer had mortgage loan jobs. Sad when the tools that are out there aren’t used to weed folks out and save taxpayers money and time.

As a manager, I ALWAYS search as thoroughly as I can on candidates. I look on Google, I search on LinkedIn, I look on Facebook, and I look on Plaxo. I like to get the fullest picture of candidates I can. I like to know if they have other hobbies that might fit with my team, to see if I can get a writing sample from their blog, and to see if they really are who they say they are.

What do you do with candidates?
