The Orange, which had one of the most remarkable runs in a conference tournament in recent memory, finally ran out of game tonight in the Big East tournament championship
Something finally had to give and it did for No. 18 Syracuse (23-9). It was Louisville’s stiffing defense that helped give the No. 5 Cardinals a 76-66 win for their first Big East title, and probable number one seeding when the brackets are announced on Sunday.

Tennessee G Lofton has minor leg injury

If anybody has Tennessee going to the Final Four, you may want to stop reading right now.
The Vols disclosed that leading scorer Chris Lofton has a minor leg injury but should be able to play against Louisville on Thursday.
There is bad timing, and then there is having your leading scorer injured during the NCAA tournament.
Tennessee needs Lofton at 100% if they are to advance in the tournament, and even a full-strength Lofton may not be enough to push them past red-hot Louisville.

Here is the latest major injury report from around the NCAA:
Miami Hurricanes guard Adrian Thomas will miss the rest of the season after injuring a ligament in his left knee. This is the second year in a row that Thomas has suffered an early season-ending injury, as he suffered an abdominal injury four games into last season.
Louisville Cardinals center David Padgett suffered a fractured right knee cap and is out for the year. Padgett is the Cardinals best low-post player and his loss will drastically hurt the Cardinals chances at winning the NCAA title this season.
