Nuggets Destroy Lakers in Denver

The Denver Nuggets and their fans don’t like the Los Angeles Lakers very much. On Friday night, the city of Denver had a great time cheering on their Nuggets as they destroyed the Lakers by a final score of 105-79. In a rematch of the 2009 Western Conference Finals, the Lakers were no match for the surging Nuggets.
The Nuggets were led by Carmelo Anthony’s 25 points in 30 minutes. J.R. Smith had 20 points off the bench in 23 minutes, while rookie point guard Ty Lawson chipped in with 13 points and six assists.

Carmelo Anthony Carries Nuggets to 2-0 Start

Early on in the 2009-10 NBA season, there’s a relatively surprising name rising in the MVP talks — Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets. Anthony is in great shape and his play early on has been spectacular. On Thursday, he helped the Nuggets rally past the Portland Trail Blazers to improve their record to 2-0.

Odom, Gasol Lead Lakers over Nuggets

Kobe Bryant has been the superstar for the Los Angeles Lakers in this postseason. On Wednesday, Bryant got some help from Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol. The two bigman overwhelmed the Denver Nuggets and lead the Lakers to a 103-94 Game 5 victory.
The Lakers and Nuggets were actually tied after the first, second and third quarters, however L.A. was able to get it rolling in the fourth. Off the bench, Odom had 19 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three assists, while Pau Gasol poured in 14 points, ten rebounds, five blocks, four assists and two steals. Nuggets Run Past Lakers, Tie Series

The Denver Nuggets needed to win to keep hope alive in the 2009 Western Conference Finals. Using the energy from their home fans and well rounded attack, the Nuggets were able to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers by a final score of 120-101.
The Lakers were trailing by ten points with three minutes remaining and looked capable of making a run. However, J.R. Smith nailed a pair of three-pointers soon after to pull out the win for Denver.

All the talk about how the Denver Nuggets could have been up 2-0 heading into Game 3 is now quiet. On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers reclaimed their spot in the driver’s seat by going into Denver and coming out with a 103-97 victory.
Down by eight points entering the fourth quarter, the Lakers played championship level basketball down the stretch to get the win. Lakers Rally to Top Nuggets in Game 1

Trailing by as many as 13 points, it looked like nothing was going right for the Los Angeles Lakers. But using a late rally against the Denver Nuggets, the Lakers were able to win Game 1 of the 2009 Western Conference Finals.
The Lakers got the lead for the first time in the fourth quarter when Derek Fisher nailed a three-pointer with two and a half minutes remaining in the game. Los Angeles held on for the win as Kobe Bryant hit six consecutive free throws down to close out Denver’s hopes.

The Nuggets showed NBA nation last night something that hasn’t been seen from them in a long time.
DEFENSIVE INTENSITY.
Thing is, Denver’s been doing it much of the season. But they can score on you so quickly, it often gets overlooked.
Billups was at it, Dahntay Jones was at it—no surprise there. Nene and Kenyon Martin were throwing their chiseled bodies around like they were the Bad Boys. Nuggets Topple Mavs, Advance to the WCF

The Denver Nuggets are headed to the Western Conference. In Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks, the Nuggets’ offense proved to be just too much. Denver got up early and glided to a 124-110 victory.
Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups were the stars for the Nuggets. Anthony led the way with 30 points, five assists and three assists, while Billups had 28 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds. Anthony hit 13-of-22 field goald attempts and Billups of 10-of-16. J.R. Smith, Nene and Kenyon Martin chipped in with 18, 17 and 15 points, respectively.

Down 0-3 in the best of seven series against the Denver Nuggets, the Dallas Mavericks faced a must-win game on Monday night. Playing in front of his home fans, Dirk Nowitzki had a game to remember as he led the Mavs to a 119-117 victory and Game 5 to be played in Denver.
Nowitzki scored 44 points on the night, including 19 points in the final stanza. For the game, the native of Germany hit 14-of-25 shots from the field, 16-of-17 shots from the line, pulled down 13 rebounds, handed out three assists, collected two steals and blocked one shot. Helping …read more
