ANYWAY … Kate Becker over at NOVA Promotions contacted me so I could let you know about the episode they’re airing on Earth Day – Tuesday, April 22nd – at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. (Most PBS stations are picking it up at this hour, but you might want to check your local listings before you set the Tivo.)

She writes:

NOVA will premiere “Car of the Future,” a look at the innovative technologies that could one day transform the way we drive. Tom and Ray Magliozzi, cohosts of NPR’s Car Talk, lead the way on a screwball automotive odyssey that doubles as a serious environmental wake-up call. From Detroit to California, Boston to Iceland, Tom and Ray mix their trademark slapstick with serious nuts-and-bolts analysis of what it will take to make our autos more energy-efficient.

And this from the press release:

Test-drive your own filmmaking skills at the Car of the Future open content site, where you’ll find more than 220 one- to three-minute clips you can use to make your own video. From expert interviews to smoke stacks and wind turbines, these clips are available to all under a non-commercial Creative Commons license. Once you download footage from the NOVA Web site you can combine it with your own materials, and then share your video creations with the online community.

What a great way to share your enthusiasm for renewable energy, resource, alternative transportation or even the latest models with friends and family! I love it. (My kids will, too. I can just feel it.)

A big thanks to Kate for sharing this resource, and a big hand to NOVA and the two goofballs who pulled the show together. It looks very entertaining … yet still informative. (How’d they do it??)
