This months winner is Rocky Akins of Cedar Hill, Missouri. He submitted this nice photo of his and Jake Peterson’s (pictured) catch from earlier this month. The two caught the fish during a small tournament on Mark Twain Lake in Missouri. Their catch consisted of 15 blue cats and 1 flathead cat with the largest rounding out a 30 lbs. In case you are wondering, they didn’t catch them noodling. They caught them with a rod and reel like the rest of us do.

June’s “Catch of the Month”

Sometimes it isn’t all about the biggest bass that deserves to be recognized. Sometimes it is all about the catch that will help make an impact in a young child’s life and the one that will ultimately help grow our sport. Those types of catches are truly special. That is the case with this month’s “Catch of the Month.

     TiRayous Addison, 11 years old of Quantico, Virginia was treated to a moment that would excite any young child. He caught his first bass while out fishing with his Dad and friend of the family on the Potomac River this month. He was fishing a small 3/8 oz. black & yellow spinnerbait when a nice 2.8 lb largemouth bass (pictured) jumped onto the end of the line. After a few moments of the fish tugging on his pole, TiRayous landed his well deserved catch and held it proudly for the camera. Great Job!

May’s – “Catch of the Month”

     Here you go. It’s not to often that I receive pictures of peacock bass, but this month I was fortunate enough to have received this great shot of Bill Reavis of Tappahannock, VA holding a beautiful peacock bass caught down in Florida.

     While in Florida, Bill enlisted the services of Stephen McDonald Jr. Stephen is the President of Bassmaster Guide Services in Southwest Ranches, Florida. The fish was caught in some canals that feed through the Miami area. While targeting edges with live shiner minnows, the fish took hold at around 11:00am. Many other fish were caught but this was the one that took top honors on Bill’s trip.

Still No “Catch of the Month” Entries For March!

     Let me just say to you Rich Lindgren, There is no doubt as to whether you are a dedicated fisherman. Way to grind it out!

     Rich sent this picture in along with a few others caught on the same outing. One of the other pictures included a nice 10+ lb. carp. This nice 3.3 lb smallmouth was caught up in Minnesota on the banks of the Mississippi River. Rich described the area as very rocky area with a whole bunch to get snagged on. His lure of choice was a 3 inch green pumpkin tube with 8 lb. Vicious Fluorocarbon line.

February’s Catch of the Month

     Suprisingly I recieved some nice pics from readers this month. I say suprisingly because I wasn’t expecting but one or two because of January’s cold weather.

     This month’s winner is Tank Mosley. Tank sent in this nice picture of a 6.18 lb largemouth caught on Virginia’s Lake Anna January 13th. Tank said the fish hit a Kaotik Lures Football Head Finesse Jig in 6 ft of water on the 2nd cast of the morning. The air temp was 9 degrees and the water temp was 39 degrees.
